The Juneteenth Lecture Series for February featured speaker Roland Martin, host and managing editor of TV One’s NewsOne Now, the first daily morning news program in history to focus on news and analysis of politics, entertainment, sports and culture from an explicitly African-American perspective. The event on Feb. 28 at The Grand 1894 Opera House also featured art by Ted Ellis and Earl Jones. The lecture series is part of this year’s celebrations and commemorations of the 150th anniversary of Juneteenth, which marks the end of slavery. Courtesy photos
