The Galveston County Daily News on Aug. 31 held an appreciation dinner at Fuddruckers, 111 23rd St. in Galveston, for the generous sponsors and volunteers of The Daily News Press Run, which was on Sept. 10. Proceeds from the annual Press Run support the Newspapers in Education program, which provides newspapers to develop reading comprehension skills, critical thinking and a better understanding of the way the world relates to the classroom.
