Galveston College and Prairie View A&M University were hosts to a Food Science Pathways planning conference June 5 on the island to discuss the realignment of the culinary arts program at the college and four-year institutions concentrating in food science systems. The keynote speaker for the USDA-sponsored conference was Chef Barton Seaver, of the Sustainable Seafood and Health Initiative at the Center for Health and Global Environment at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Wyndham hotel managers Steve Cunningham and Marty Miles were hosts to a pre-conference reception June 4 at the Hotel Galvez.
