Hosted by KPRC-TV’s chief meteorologist Frank Billingsley, the event featured Balinese-style casino gambling, a performance by Lyle Lovett and the first presentation of the Buck ’N Ball Award to The Honorable James A. Baker III. The award is given to distinguished and history-changing individuals with roots in Texas and/or the American West.
