The Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce hosted its 50th Awards Gala on Jan. 31 at the Charles T. Doyle Convention Center in Texas City. About 500 guests and business leaders gathered to honor this year’s awards recipients, which included Phil Roberts, Outstanding Citizen of the Year; Georgia Meyer, Jimmy Hayley Community Service Award; Josh Chapman representing Chapman’s Front End & Brakes, Small Business of the Year Award; Shawn Bailey representing AMOCO Federal Credit Union, Large Business of the Year Award; Colleen Merritt, Rising Star Award; and Kevin Yackly, Northern Star Award.
