Guests gathered at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. on the Kemah Boardwalk on Feb. 23 for the Yachty Gras Judges Party.
The event included the judging of the Mardi Gras boat parade, a complimentary bar and heavy hors d’ oeuvres. The Grand Night Boat Parade began in the Clear Lake Channel and passed by the Kemah Boardwalk. The many beautifully decorated boats and yachts transfixed the guests who lined the boardwalk. Guests at the VIP Judges Party voted on the Most Lavishly Decorated and Most Enthusiastic boats/yachts. The awards presentation was held Feb. 24 at the Kemah Aquarium. Yachty Gras, founded and led by Dr. Maurine Howard, is America’s largest Mardi Gras Boat Parade. The group’s charitable donations include Sea Scouts and the Seabrook Animal Shelter.
