Baskin Robbins
Still featuring 31 flavors of ice cream bliss, Baskin Robbins is a cold war survivor as new parlors come along. Featuring mainstays like buttered pecan, strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream, the shop also offers flavors like Baseball Nut, chocolate chip, cookie dough and rainbow sherbet. And, who doesn’t love banana splits and sundaes? They have those too, along with ice cream cakes, shakes and decadent baked goods.

Snow King
This La Marque institution, founded in 1979, is celebrating its 40-year anniversary this year. The venue serves a wide variety of shaved ice flavorings, including cream, ice cream and chamoy toppings. The year-round business also serves hot dogs, Frito pie, nachos, sausage-on-a-stick and chopped- and sliced-brisket sandwiches. And, don’t forget to check out the homemade beef jerky.
