The Dickinson Historical Society played host to the Wine and Roses Gala on April 26 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Dickinson. The event featured a dinner, open bar, silent and live auctions and entertainment from Mickey Hobbs. Gene Kranz, former Mission Control director, presented Nanette Faget Johnson with a special award honoring her late father, Maxime Faget, designer of the Mercury spacecraft and chief NASA engineer. Faget built a model of the shuttle in his garage. A landmark medallion will designate his home as historical. Photos by Carla Peoples
