Jennifer Kizzee grew up in Veracruz and Villahermosa, Mexico, living and enjoying the Gulf. Her love of the coast comes naturally.
Today, the League City resident looks forward to fishing with her husband, Jon, when they trailer their boat to Waterman Marina & Bait Camp in Galveston.
As a child, Kizzee wanted to be a figure skater.
“We had a tiny black and white television, and I’d watch the Winter Olympics, thinking, ‘I want to do that,’” she said.
But she also had a passion for interior design, so she followed that path and has been helping clients with décor for the past five years.
Kizzee describes her fashion style as “anything with a fresh look,” and favors wearing print dresses and beaded bracelets. This fall, she’ll be wearing ripped jeans, biker boots and long-sleeved sweaters with scarves, she said.
Here are a few of her favorite things:
Coral: This reminds me of the coral reefs in the Gulf of Mexico. I once lived in Cancun for six months and did a lot of snorkeling close to the coral reefs — beautiful.
Gucci purse: This is one of my ultimate favorite items. It’s 10 years old and it goes with me pretty much everywhere. I love the gold chain and the orange reminds me of the color of coral.
Bathing suit cover-up: This was made by an Argentinean designer. My husband bought this for me when we were in Colombia. I am obsessed with tassels, plus the navy and coral colors match my Gucci purse really well.
Bracelet: I used to wear only pearl necklaces but have transitioned into bracelets. This beaded one with wooden clasps is another reminder of the ocean, plus was a gift from my stepson.
Perfume: Alien by Mugler has become my signature perfume — a gift from my mom. It has a fresh floral-woody-amber fragrance and the bottle’s deep purple-hued glass is designed to mimic an amethyst.
Boots: I wear these riding boots with jeans every fall. I got them at DSW eight years ago and love all the studs and buckle in the back. They go great with a sweater and scarf.
Necklace: I bought this in Bogotá, Colombia, made by an artist at Studio F. I love the colors and different elements of turquoise, coral and silver, along with the chains dripping downward. It makes a fabulous statement.
