Yachty Gras organizers held a kick-off party Jan. 18 at the Kemah Elks Lodge. Yachty Gras is known as the largest Mardi Gras boat parade in America. Decorated watercraft, from dinghies to sailboats to elaborate yachts, sail along the Seabrook-Kemah channel, their passengers throwing beads to enthusiastic crowds. The kick-off event featured dinner, dancing, a silent auction and music from Andy and The Dreamsicles. Photos by Carla Peoples
